Thinking of visiting the area?

If you would like to visit the battlefields but don't know where to start or are confused about where the actions took place, why not allow me to assist you with your trip?

I can carry out research on individual soldiers allowing their war to be followed, giving you the opportunity to walk in their footsteps. I can conduct personal tours, provide a unique insight into the life of the first world war soldier both in the front-line trenches and during their time behind the front-line, visiting areas where they actually lived and enjoyed time in reserve. You can meet the local people with their own links to the Allied armies and experience a true taste of this part of the western front from a whole new perspective.

Wherever your relatives fought, or spent time during the war, can be visited. You will see evidence of soldiers graffiti, visit tunnels, see the bunkers trenches and craters, some that have been untouched for 100 years. Some of these areas do not get visitors!

I am able to offer this unique experience as I have been living in this area since retiring from the fire service. I have made many friends as I have travelled by foot and bicycle researching the western front from both a British/Allied and French perspective;

I have learnt some of the language allowing me to talk to local farmers, veterans, historians, and elderly residents and their families, and continue to learn more each day.

I am a member of Le Souvenir Francais, the WFA and RBL. As an ex serviceman with a personal experience of war I also respect and appreciate the difficulties of coming to terms with loss and life on the front-line. (ex service personnel are more than welcome, it helps to spend time and talk with fellow veterans, I am happy to assist with any disability but please contact me to discuss personal arrangements)

The areas you choose to visit will be full of emotion, you will have an experience Never To Be Forgotten, which is the reason we should all come to see these fields, and bow our heads in remembrance at the millions of names etched across the many cemeteries and memorials.

If you would like to discuss a visit, soldier research or seek any advice on where to stay, please contact me via the details attached.

I am happy to chauffeur you if you do not want to drive in France and will happily discuss all options to ensure you have a worthwhile and memorable visit.

No task too great or small; They achieved so much and at such great cost, this debt we owe.

Funds will be offered to service charities after costs.

Please consider a personal trip
