Ceremony Photos

I would like to thank the Mayors and citizens of the french villages of Blairville and Fillièvres, the Chairman of Le Souvenir Francais Arras, and the many Veterans organisations that attended the memorial ceremonies on Saturday 30th April. Stéphane from the Historique Association of Fillievres and The members of the Mereseyside and West Lancashire Branch of the Royal British Legion and members of the other British organisations that travelled with them. Also the Nord Pas-de-Calais branch RBL and the British Armed forces representatives, I convey my sincere gratitude.

Your attendance made for a truly memorable occasion, and a fitting tribute, to commemorate a recipient of our highest military award for bravery in the face of the enemy, the Victoria Cross.

It was a day to remember all of those that gave their lives in conflict, but especially, 100 years after his death, that of

Lieutenant Edward Felix Baxter.
